Compliance
At Professional Placement we know how important compliance is especially in a highly regulated, high-risk industry such as the Criminal Justice and Social Care sector. We have a strict vetting requirement and any offer of employment will be subject to appropriate vetting procedures.
Vetting our candidates is a key component and our well-trained criminal justice and social work recruiters take care that everyone working in the CJS and Social care sectors maintain high ethical and professional standards and act with the utmost integrity.
Professional Placement makes this procedure easy by supporting both client and candidate with the entire compliance process
Our standard vetting procedures include but are not limited to:
✔
All our candidates are checked for their suitability and right to work in the UK
✔
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and overseas police checks for new entrants
✔
We meet all candidates face to face before sending them your way
✔
Countersignatory references where applicable
✔
Full employment history
✔
Verification of Professional Training (statutory and role specific training) and Qualifications
✔
Proof of professional body membership
✔
Professional Reference checking (at least 5 years)
✔

✔
Regular support throughout the recruitment process to ensure that all files are kept up-to date
Security Checks and Clearances
Candidates who are being considered for a post where they will have access to highly sensitive information, assets or locations then further additional security checks and security clearances will be required. This will apply for candidates working for example for the Police, Prison Service, Probation and Community Rehabilitation and Youth Service. This could be in the form of a legal requirement or a condition of employment.
Disclosure and Barring Service
For certain roles where candidates will be working with vulnerable groups, including children, a more detailed Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check may be necessary. Professional Placement works with a bespoke and trusted DBS umbrella partner to simplify the DBS checking process. According to what eligibility dictates, we arrange for basic, standard or enhanced DBS checks during the application process. DBS checks need to be renewed on an annual basis.
Security Clearance
Many positions also require additional security clearance and our team at Professional Placement will support each candidate through the application or transference procedures.
Some of the clearances may include:
✔
Fully enhanced NOMS security clearance check
✔
HM Prison Service Security Clearance
✔
Police Service Vetting (including overseas application)
