King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, situated in Riyadh, the capital of
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is a state-of-the-art tertiary medical and research facility serving the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the surrounding region.
The KFSH&RC is a multy-facility operating 850 beds, employing approximately 8,500 employees from all over the world and has an average annual patient referral of over 32,000 patients.
The KFSH&RC is a national referral centre for oncology, organ transplantations, cardiac surgery, genetic diseases and more.
It also offers advanced health care education and training to promote leadership and professional standards for the medical, technical, and administrative staff of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre with services available in Residency & Fellowship Training Program, Scholarship Program, Training & Development, Continuing Medical Education (CME), Health Sciences Library (HSL),Life Support Training Center (LSTC) among others.
The KFSH&RC was established in 1975 and named after His Majesty the late King Faisal Bin Abdulaziz, who laid the cornerstone for the hospital by donating 450,000 sq meters of land (the current land of the hospital is now approximately 920,000 sqm).
Today the KFSH&RC includes the following Centers of Execellence:
- The Research Centre.
- The King Fahad National Centre for Children's Cancer and Research, the only children's cancer centre in the Middle East. It is located 20 kilometres north of Riyadh on a twenty-acre site.
- The King Faisal Heart Institute.
- The King Faisal Cancer Centre (KFCC).
