Job Description

Pharmacist III

Responsible to:  Manager, Pharmacy Services

Basic Function:

Compounds and dispenses medications and prescriptions in accordance with accepted standards and established Pharmacy procedures. Counsel patients.

Principal Duties:

Assists in pharmacists in filling pharmacy requisitions, prescriptions, cassette fillings, and in maintaining records.

Assists in extemporaneous preparation of sterile products.
Prepackages tablets and capsules for inpatient and outpatient dispensing, using an automatic unit dose or tablet/capsule counting machine. Labels the prepackaged product and completes the appropriate records.

Assists in the bulk manufacturing of special pharmaceutical products, operates manufacturing equipment. Follows worksheet to prepare products.

Assist in the preparation of intravenous solution. Reconstitute bulk additives and prepares batches of selected admixtures.

Distributed filled orders to nursing units or other departments, as required.

Maintains proper inventory of drugs. Monitors expiration dates.

Maintains necessary records.

Maintain a clean environment.

Follows all hospital related policies and procedures

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy required

Experience and Other Qualification
Previous experience in hospital pharmacy practice is preferable

Severance Pay
As an International employee of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre you are entitled to receive severance pay upon completion of your contract and subsequent repatriation. This is a one-time payment made upon your final departure from the Hospital and is accrued throughout your tenure within the Hospital. Severance pay accrues at a rate of 15 days pay for each of your first four years and 30 days pay for the fifth and subsequent years
